SONIC IS BETTER THAN MARIO! Tribute to all of y'all who are team Sonic out there!
lyrics
[Creative Mind Frame]
Intro:
I hope you are all prepared, there are going to be some definite fighting words that are delivered on this track
Some of y'all still think that Mario is the best, we're going to settle this right here
Verse:
This the Hilltrap, watch me build that, I’m in my 30s and I still rap
Bout sonic (yeah) because I feel that, brings the fire from within like a grill rack
I’m repping 90s, yeah that’s me, we rented games where we shopped for food that’s crazy B
Slap on the Speed-shoes yeah you know we runnin' it, whatever trouble you had planned you better double it
At speed of light, yeah I rip that, hit 'em with a spin dash watch 'em get back
Just a quip that meant to remind you the Sonic series is the best of all time, I just spit facts
Put it all on the line, yeah I’ll take my pick, chargin through these zones like a Bull back in '96
I got cunningness and Guile send them to their tomb, jumping on their heads watch them up blow up (hah) sonic boom
Hook:
This the Hilltrap zone (yeh)
And you better get gone (ugh)
If you talk that trash (yeah)
Bout to get them slaps, slap! slap!
This the Hilltrap zone (yeh)
And you better get gone (ugh)
If ain’t on it (on it!)
This a song for team Sonic
Verse:
I was 6 making grunts like I’m Rick Ross, switch to channel 3 playing on the big box
If they ain’t worried well they better be, I'm coming through with a Super Saiyan energy
You just Tails yeah you know you supplementary, fading enemies behind like a memory
My shield is straight fire like a pyro, and you know I run this city... hydro
Zone after zone, see we fast, coming through in all directions like a 3D blast
Better let it be don’t mess with me you better be ready B, we unstoppable when pullin' out this emerald energy
1-UP likes sonic oh it be like that? I say “da da da da da da da da da daaaaa”
Yeah it be like that, yeah it be like that
Hook:
This the Hilltrap zone (yeh)
And you better get gone (ugh)
If you talk that trash (yeah)
Bout to get them slaps, slap! slap!
This the Hilltrap zone (yeh)
And you better get gone (ugh)
If ain’t on it (on it!)
This a song for team Sonic
Verse:
Whether Sonic 2, or even Sonic 3, I’m a beast in any Sonic that you wanna see
If they think they gonna stop this, they’ll come up short every time like Robotnik
But if you wanna peep this, I’m chillin out with my crew in a zone that’s secret
If you make ball up Imma ball out, and then it’s gonna be apocalyptic for you Fall Out
Yeah I call out any enemy that wants to step to me I’ll go Super Sonic, and then I’m ready see?
And theoretically, if you think you’re better than me, I’ll bear some knuckles and then I guess we’ll see
If I’m wrong, go ahead and show me, we all know Knuckle's repping for the homies
Spitting out of this world sci-fi, like the end of the Death Egg zone, I’m a fly guy (Richie)
Hook x 3:
This the Hilltrap zone (yeh)
And you better get gone (ugh)
If you talk that trash (yeah)
Bout to get them slaps, slap! slap!
This the Hilltrap zone (yeh)
And you better get gone (ugh)
If ain’t on it (on it!)
This a song for team Sonic

Obviously as a nerd mainly into punk rock and heavy metal I first got into Mega Ran from his VGM-based projects. A Mega Man X project with vinyl to boot? Count me in! Amazing how the "Start" sound alone triggers a flood of good memories. Brilliant work guys. Sean Comerford

I love this album because Mega Ran handed it to me himself in Baltimore, it was the last copy they had! Also, it's a great collection of his work. coolloserguy

I love this whole album: It just captures a wide range of experiences and affects the listener with a wide range of emotions.
I first liked this album because of the nerdcore elements, but I fell in love when I realized that these verses were true poetry, speaking to a deeper truth and beauty unlike most hip-hop I've heard. "A Poet" exemplifies this with its bittersweet message about how poetry is not valued. This is the first hip-hop tune I've ever shed a tear over.
Take a bow, Mega Ran. platinumazure
